Iwate Ichinoseki Chiba Traditional House (Mother House)

This is a gassho-style house that uses reed under the thatched roof foundation. It's a 92-year-old traditional house with features characteristic of a time when sericulture and tobacco production were flourishing. The south side of the first floor has a low ceiling, so it would be desirable to create a rebirth where the second floor is opened up into a loft space to reveal the framework.
